Tech billionaire and Trump adviser Elon Musk visited the Pentagon on Friday for a briefing that two defense officials had said would include a discussion on China.

The briefing was unclassified, the officials said before the meeting. Musk arrived at the Pentagon shortly before 9 a.m. ET and left at around 10:20 a.m.
When asked afterward how the meeting went, Musk told reporters as he was walking with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, “It’s always a great meeting.”

The New York Times was first to report the news. The Times also reported, citing two U.S. officials, that Musk would be briefed on the U.S. military’s plans for any potential war with China. The defense officials whom NBC News contacted could not confirm that Musk would be briefed on plans for any potential war with China, known as the operational plan, or O plan.
President Donald Trump denied the report.
