Camping, fishing and off-grid insect repellent vaporizer

From bigclivedotcom.

With the army-green colour and physical appearance, I think they are aiming this unit at outdoor recreation. But it would also have uses in off-grid applications.
If actually used outdoors, the ambient airflow and direction would make the use of this device a bit unpredictable.

It’s a USB powered heated pad insect repellent vapour unit. I don’t think it actually kills insects, so much as disorienting them and discouraging their biting instinct.

It certainly does create a faintly visible vapour from the pads supplied, but I think I’d use it with a proprietary brand of pads for predictable results.

The unit does self regulate the heat for a consistent dissipation of vapour at different temperatures.
The current consumption can be quite high at around 700mA (3.5W), so it would need a good capacity power bank for overnight use, or a 5V converter for cabin use.

This came from eBay and had the description:-
Electric USB Mosquito Repellent Wireless Mosquito Killer Improve Sleep
Target cost in the UK about £5.
