With Canada staring down the barrel of U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s tariff threat, the federal government is committing $1.3 billion to tighten its side of the Canadian-American border.

Trump is threatening to slap 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian imports when he is sworn into office unless Canada cracks down on illegal drug and immigration flow across the border.
