Canada Post workers protest company’s “final offer” as it asks feds to intervene

From Global News.

Members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) took to the streets across the country in protest on Saturday, as Canada Post called on the government to intervene in the labour dispute.

Canada Post put forward what it said is its “final offer” earlier in the week and has asked Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu to step in and force a union vote.

The company says talks are at an impasse and it doesn’t believe the two sides will be able to reach an agreement through the “normal course” of negotiations.

Lexy Benedict reports.
