Members of Ecole L’Odyssee High School band in Moncton, N.B., were left disappointed after long rehearsals and training when their trip to New York City was called just nine days before their date of departure.

The school district blamed the decision on tensions between Canada and the U.S. since Donald Trump’s announcement of tariffs starting a trade war and an unsettling political climate.

But the parents of the students are upset and say they were not consulted before the trip was cancelled. Global’s Suzanne Lapointe has the story.
