Prime Minister Mark Carney has spent the last two days at the Calgary Stampede, where he conducted his first broadcast interview with Global News since the election.

He addressed the growing sentiment for separatism in Alberta and outlined his approach to engaging with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Carney emphasized the need for Albertans and all Canadians to contribute more to bolster the national economy, stating, "We can give ourselves far more than any trading relationship, even a trading relationship with the United States. And so the more that that’s understood, the more the collaborative approach comes together."
