Children become victims of unprecedented violence in Chile

From Associated Press.

The killing of a 10-year-old girl in Chile shocked the South American country in January 2024. Agustina Pascale became one of the first public faces of an unprecedented wave of killings that is on track to leave a record number of minors as victims of criminal gangs this year—whether recruited or killed in the crossfire. By mid-November, a total of 48 children had been killed by firearms, six more than were recorded in all of 2023, officials said.
