China announced on Friday that it will impose a 34 per cent tariff on imports of all U.S. products beginning April 10, part of a flurry of retaliatory measures following U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs.

Trump imposed 54% tariffs on imports from the world’s No. 2 economy this week.

Some Shanghai residents said they are considering reducing their consumption of American products following the announcement.
