A video of a three-headed elephant puppet was falsely shared as having been shot at the 2025 Kumbh Mela in India. While the festival in Prayagraj features grand idols and draws millions of pilgrims, this footage was actually shot in Thailand.
A Google reverse image search traced the clip to the 2024 Krungsri Khon parade. Thai newspaper Thairath confirmed the puppet was made from styrofoam and fabric. AFP’s Sachin Baghel in New Delhi verified the location as Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya, Thailand, using Google Street View.
