A longtime behind-the-scenes member of Alberta’s conservative community announced earlier this week that he is parting ways with the United Conservative Party (UCP), alleging it has become “addicted to power and allergic to transparency.”

Cameron Davies was a key player in the Wildrose Party before it merged with members of the Progressive Conservative Party to form the UCP.

Davies’ departure from the party is the latest act of dissension in the UCP ranks.
