A daughter radically readjusted her wedding to make sure her father was there to walk her down the aisle. Maricela Mercado and her groom Ralph Polk were planning a June 2025 wedding. Her father, Salvador Rivera, has spent several weeks in a Southern California hospital following a stroke. Maricela moved her nuptials up several months, flying with other family members from San Antonio, Texas, in order to be walked down the aisle of a hospital chapel on her father’s arm.
