A Delta Air Lines plane bound for Atlanta was forced to return to Los Angeles International Airport after flames erupted from its left engine shortly after takeoff on Friday.

Delta Flight 446 landed safely with no injuries reported among the 235 passengers and crew.

The FAA is investigating the incident, and passengers were rebooked on another aircraft.
