Democrats on the U.S. House Congressional Progressive Caucus called for Elon Musk to be fired from his "unelected" government role, calling him an "unaccountable billionaire who now has seemingly unlimited powers over Americans’ private data and over Americans’ taxpayer dollars."

The Democrats introduced the ‘Taxpayer Data Protection Act’ amid an investigation of potential "alarming" national security threats posed by Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Congressman Casten spoke at a the press conference, saying there’s a
"narcissistic billionaire running the government who peddles in fascism."

"And if you are listening to that and saying, is he talking about Donald Trump or Elon Musk, then you kind of get the problem, don’t you?" he added.
