Norway’s iconic wild salmon is in dramatic decline, a victim of fish farming and climate change. The species’ plummeting stocks have sparked concern among sport anglers and those who make a living from the hobby, which has become part of the country’s DNA. In 2021, the fish was placed on Norway’s red list of near-endangered species.
