The escalation of tariffs has unraveled a trade relationship between the United States and China forged over decades. Beijing has increased tariffs on American imports from 84 to 125 percent starting on Saturday. The move escalates the ongoing trade war between the world’s two biggest economies and is in response to the US raising taxes on Chinese goods to 145 percent.
