Bryan Kohberger, the former criminal-justice doctoral student who was convicted in the 2022 stabbing deaths of four Idaho college students was formally sentenced to life in prison, but declined to make a statement in court that might have addressed the mystery of his motive for the killings.
Kohberger received four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole or appeal under a deal with prosecutors that spared him the death penalty in return for his guilty plea to four counts of first-degree murder.
