Langley RCMP confirmed an explosion happened at a Metro Vancouver home on Friday morning, sparking a massive fire that affected multiple homes.

A Global News reporter on the scene said the fire impacted three additional homes and a daycare that was operating out of the home next to the one where the explosion and fire started.

Two people were taken to hospital via air ambulance in critical condition. It is not known if they were in the original house that caught fire or a different residence.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Global’s Taya Fast report.
