Families of Israeli hostages held by Hamas protest for deal to release their loved ones | DW News

From DW News.

It’s been nearly two years and still 50 of the hostages Hamas took on October 7, 2023 have not returned home. Israeli officials believe fewer than half of them are still alive.
Frustration is high among families of the hostages after Israel and the US pulled their teams out of ceasefire talks in Qatar this week. Many blame Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the failure to reach a comprehensive deal with Hamas. Their weekly Saturday demonstrations are designed to stress that time for their loved ones is running out.
