Family claims child welfare agency left children in hotel for 2 weeks

From Global News.

In late March, five children were removed from kinship care and placed in two different Winnipeg hotels, according to their family.

A 15-year-old was reportedly left to care for her younger siblings, aged 10, 7 and 6, for nearly two weeks.

The family says they were fed TV dinners and slurpees and told to de-louse themselves.

Manitoba’s Families Minister says hotel placements are prohibited, but offered no comment on the case. Melissa Ridgen reports.
