A 40-year-old father and his three-year-old daughter died in the hospital after a double crash Tuesday night in Pickering.

The father and the daughter were struck by another car as they were getting out of their vehicle following a previous crash. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Const. Nicholas Gluckstein said the car was extensively damaged.

“I can tell you there was significant damage to the Honda, and the airbags had been deployed,” he said.

Gluckstein added that the police were not considering charges against anyone involved.
