Protesters planted themselves outside a Milwaukee courthouse on Friday afternoon after the FBI arrested and charged Milwaukee judge Hannah Dugan, amid the Trump administration clamp down on foreign nationals residing in the U.S.

Dugan is accused of helping a man evade immigration authorities.
“This is about striking fear in the heart of the judiciary,” Maxwell Love of Wisconsin Working Families told protesters on Friday.

“She’s the first official who’s been targeted by the Trump regime, and that’s because they care about destroying our checks and balances, they care about power.”

FBI Director Kash Patel claimed Friday on social media that Dugan, a Milwaukee Circuit Court judge had “intentionally misdirected” federal agents away from a man they were trying to take into custody.
Patel has since deleted his post on X.
