Flames threaten Turkey’s 4th largest city as southern Europe deals with wildfires

From Global News.

Wildfires that have engulfed Turkey for weeks spread rapidly overnight Saturday, forcing more than 3,500 people on Sunday to flee the eastern suburbs of Bursa, the country’s fourth-largest city.

More than 1,900 firefighters are fighting wildfires, which have shut down the highway to Ankara.

Firefighters are also battling wildfires in neighbouring Greece, fueled by relentless heat waves, strong winds and bone-dry conditions.
