Ford says Trump “won’t be happy” with plan to lure US doctors, nurses, and researchers to Canada

From Global News.

Speaking at a press conference Monday morning at Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said U.S. President Donald Trump "won’t be happy" with the province’s push to lure U.S. doctors, nurses, and medical researchers to Canada.

"We’re going to go on many fronts to fight these tariffs, but one thing to win big time is to get the greatest minds in the United States to come to the greatest sub-soverign nation in the world, and that’s Ontario, " Ford told reporters. "And when we’re running those ads, and I can tell you, the President [Trump] won’t be happy."

At that same press conference Monday morning, University Health Network (UHN) executives outlined their strategy to attract what they describe as the “brightest minds in medical research” in the United States to come to Canada.

The plan, called "Canada Leads 100" challenge seeks to recruit 100 new scientists internationally to make an impact in the Canadian research sector.
