Speaking to Liberal Party faithful on Sunday, former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien joked that U.S. President Donald Trump should be given the Order of Canada for uniting Canada "like never before!"

Chrétien also said his mother would be "ashamed" of him if he had acted the way Trump had acted in the last two weeks towards Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, as well as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
