Florida State University Police said two people were killed and five have been transported to hospital after a shooter opened fire on the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee, Fla., on Thursday.

"Everybody started running out of the student union, so I made my way out where the old bookstore is, about a minute later we heard 8-10 gunshots," said one witness on scene. "There was another gentleman that was running away and it looked like he was shot in the pelvic area and he laid down and got help and assistance from the police," he added.

"I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing… everything was really quiet, then all chaotic."

Police said the shooter, who has yet to be identified, is in police custody and is believed to be an FSU student. Police also said the two people pronounced dead are not students.
