Gazans criticized United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday after the U.S. president posted an AI video promoting his plan to turn the besieged enclave into a beach resort dubbed “Trump Gaza.”

The video features a sunbathing Trump next to Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu and a massive golden statue of Trump. Tech entrepreneur and DOGE mastermind Elon Musk also features prominently in the video.

Gazans who spoke with Reuters news service said Wednesday they reject Trump’s plan for the territory.

“If we say to him ‘leave your land,’ would he be happy?” asked Jamal Abu Khater, a Palestinian resident of Jabalia, Gaza.

Trump previously said he wants the U.S. to “take over” Gaza and move its people to Egypt and Jordan before rebuilding as the "Riviera of the Middle East."
