Ximena Arias Cristobal, a 19-year-old college student, was mistakenly pulled over while driving in Dalton, Georgia on May 5. Her arrest led to a federal immigration hold and ICE to detain Arias for more than two weeks.

Republican state representative Kasey Carpenter wrote a letter calling for Arias’ release and for Congress to overhaul the immigration system. CNN’s Victor Blackwell speaks with Ximena Arias Cristobal and Rep. Kasey Carpenter.

Dalton Police later said a review of dashcam video showed the officer pulled over the wrong truck and that Arias was not the driver who made the illegal turn. The department dropped all traffic charges against her.. #CNN #News
