German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrive at Downing Street amid Merz’s first official visit to London. The UK hopes to win a firm commitment from Germany to change its law to help smash people smuggling gangs as well as boost defence ties, according to Starmer’s office.
