Gov. Hochul on how tariffs impact New York state

From PBS NewsHour.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said Tuesday that she has discussed with President Donald Trump the ways tariffs negatively affect her state.

"He does believe that it’s short-term pain for long-term gain," Hochul said of the president. "The people who were expecting prices to go down on Inauguration Day are really in for a rude awakening. Not only did they not go down as promised, but they’re going up."

Hochul told Amna Nawaz that she met with the president in the White House last week. Immigration, infrastructure and the economy are among the topics the president and the governor have addressed since he took office in January.
