Half of provinces won’t hit 2026 $10-a-day child care target, report says

The $10-a-day child care program was launched in 2021 as a promise to make raising a family more affordable.

But now, a new report shows half of Canada’s provinces, including Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, are unlikely to meet the 2026 deadline for its implementation.

And as Amandalina Letterio reports, while fees have dropped significantly in some regions, parents are now facing a new challenge.
