He used to be 155 pounds. Now he’s starving in Gaza

Salim Asfour, 85, is starving in Gaza and says he’s lost close to 70 pounds. He says he’s too weak to walk the 20 kilometres for aid and worries that if he sends his children, they won’t return.

Humanitarian groups are warning of mass starvation spreading across the enclave due to Israel blocking aid in the region.

With international criticism growing, Israel has said it will ease aid access, but aid groups say it’s a ‘trickle’ of what is needed.
