There has been no let up in fighting between Russia and Ukraine ahead of the Trump-Putin summit. On Friday, Ukraine confirmed it struck an oil refinery in the Russian city of Syzran earlier in the morning. It also hit a Russian port and cargo vessel used to transport military supplies on Thursday. The Ukrainian military has been targeting key infrastructure – often with drones deep inside Russia.

Russia’s military offensive has continued unabated. Reports say Russian forces are making important gains on the frontline in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian officials in several regions have also reported casualties from strikes over the last 24 hours.
