From Global News.
Speaking in the Oval Office Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump provided an update about ongoing efforts to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine in their long-running war.
Though Trump told reporters, “I think we have a deal with Russia,” he suggested no progress has been made with Ukraine.
“I thought it might be easier to deal with [Ukrainian President Volodomyr] Zelenskyy. So far, it’s been harder,” the Republican leader said.
Upon being asked about a U.S. proposal presented to Ukraine that would see Crimea recognized as a Russian territory, Trump dodged the question, saying, “I have no favourites,” and, “I just want to see the war end. I don’t care if they are both happy.”
