From Global News.
A Kelowna, B.C., man who witnessed the fatal hammer attack on 32-year-old Bailey McCourt says he tried to save her but wasn’t quick enough.
Christopher Anderson said he saw a man attacking McCourt in broad daylight and ran to intervene, but the injuries were too severe.
Her ex-husband, James Plover, is now charged with second-degree murder, hours after being convicted on unrelated domestic violence charges.
The tragedy has sparked public outrage and renewed calls to address systemic failures in protecting victims of intimate partner violence.
