From Global News.
The head of the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is supporting early findings from the Pentagon, suggesting last Saturday’s attacks on three of Iran’s key nuclear sites by American bomber jets only temporarily disrupted Iran’s uranium enrichment program rather than completely destroying it, as suggested by President Trump a week ago.
Trump doubled down on Sunday, insisting that Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been destroyed.
But the IAEA says within a few months Iran could be producing enriched uranium and claims the watchdog agency was pressured to exaggerate its findings.
“(Iran) didn’t have nuclear weapons,” said the IAEA’s chief, Rafael Mariano Grossi.
Global’s Candice Cole reports.
