The National Guard stands outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in Los Angeles as protests against immigration enter their fifth day. On Tuesday, hundreds of Marines mobilized by US President Donald Trump arrived in the city as reinforcements, despite the advice of California authorities. Los Angeles was already cordoned off by thousands of soldiers and police officers tasked with suppressing protests against the deportation of migrants.
