From Global News.
Residents of Dharali, a village in India’s Uttarakhand state, described scenes of devastation on Wednesday after sudden flash floods and landslides the previous day left dozens missing and submerged houses in sludge.
"The situation here was dangerous and very horrifying… We were nearby and saw a lot of people being swept away by the deluge," said Roshan, a local resident.
"It was horrific and the floods lasted for merely 10 seconds and after that the water started flowing normally," said Sumit Rathodi, another local resident.
Around 130 people were rescued by Tuesday night, the chief minister of Uttarakhand state, Pushkar Singh Dhami, said, adding that "road connectivity has been lost at various places and some bridges have been damaged. So, it is getting hard to get there."
