People took to the streets of Tel Aviv and several other cities across the globe to call for an end to the war in Gaza, and the deepening hunger crisis that has put the besieged enclave at risk of famine.

More than 100 charity and human rights groups have said that Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid and ongoing military offensive are pushing Palestinians in the Gaza strip toward starvation.

“We are at the tipping point,” said Amande Bazerolle, head of the emergency department of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MS) operating in the Palestinian territories.

“They are really giving up. There is nothing. They cannot feed their children, they are seeing their children dying and getting sicker and sicker every day.”
Israel, which controls the flow of aid into Gaza, says it is not responsible for the shortages of food and claims the situation is “orchestrated by Hamas.”
