From Global News.
Raphael Graven, who went by Jean Pormanove online, died Monday during a livestream on the Kick platform, where he had regularly been shown enduring violence and humiliation.
Parisians on Thursday expressed sadness and condemned the "inhumanity," saying, "that people can be tortured live and no one reacts."
Resident Cole Leroy said Kick should have been monitored more closely to prevent Pormanove’s death.
In a statement, Damien Martinelli, the prosecutor in the southern French city, said an autopsy carried out Thursday indicated Pormanove’s death was not caused by trauma and "not related" to the intervention of a third party.
Kick is an Australia-registered live streaming platform that shares revenue with its content creators. It was not clear from the video excerpts if Pormanove voluntarily subjected himself to the violence or was forced to endure it, nor whether the action was real or staged.
