Iran says it doesn’t want war, blames Israel for escalating conflict during nuclear talks

On June 15, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran had been focused on diplomacy around its nuclear program and did not want war.

He called Iran’s response to Israeli strikes legitimate self-defence, and said it would stop if Israel ended its aggression.

Araqchi accused Israel of trying to derail nuclear talks by launching attacks during negotiations.

He said the Israeli government has shown no interest in diplomacy or reaching a nuclear agreement.
