Israel is intensifying its military operations in Gaza. It says the new offensive aims to defeat Hamas and bring home hostages the militants are still holding. Palestinian officials say more than 150 people have been killed in the latest bombardments, which come during the third month of Israel’s blockade of aid into the territory.
