Japanese city Nagasaki marks 80 years since the atomic bombing | DW News

From DW News.

People in Nagasaki gathered to honor the victims of the 1945 bombing, which instantly killed 27,000 and led to tens of thousands more deaths from radiation. Three days earlier, Hiroshima was bombed, killing around 140,000.

At the city’s Peace Park, survivors, families, and representatives from 95 countries took part in a solemn ceremony — including a moment of silence at the exact time the bomb exploded.
