Charlbury residents protested the visit of United States Vice President JD Vance, who has been on holiday in the rural Cotswolds town since Sunday.

The small demonstration was accompanied by plenty of signage, the classic meme of JD Vance and a chocolate caterpillar cake.

"It’s just been very strange…I think it’s probably pretty unparalleled anywhere actually in the U.K. that, you know, you seal an entire village off and mount this incredible security operation," one resident said.
