Reporting from London after speaking with economic leaders, journalists, and academics, #MorningJoe’s Joe Scarborough said U.S. allies and competitors “can’t believe their luck” as the Trump administration slashes research funding, imposes sweeping tariffs, and drives away top talent.

“They’re getting the best and brightest minds,” Scarborough warned, adding that countries like China and the UK are seizing the economic and diplomatic openings Trump is “dumb enough” to hand them: “They cannot believe what we are doing to ourselves.”
