After the jury in Karen Read’s murder retrial found her not guilty of killing her police officer boyfriend John O’Keefe, she emerged from the Massachusetts courthouse to an eruption of cheers and chants. She was cleared of the charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene of a deadly accident, but was convicted on a lesser charge of driving under the influence and received a one-year probation sentence.
