Two women, aged 32 and 72, were killed Sunday after a shooting at a church in Lexington, Ky.

After shooting a Kentucky State Trooper at a local airport earlier in the day, the gunman – whose name has not yet been released – carjacked a vehicle about 16km away and fled to Richmond Road Baptist Church.

The suspect began firing at people on the church grounds, before being shot dead by authorities in the parking lot.

The wounded officer is currently being treated, as well as two other men who were shot at the church – one of whom was left in critical condition – according to Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers.
