Ksenia Karelina released to U.S. in prisoner swap with Russia

From PBS NewsHour.

Russian American Ksenia Karelina was released to the U.S. in a prisoner swap this week after 14 months in Russian captivity. She was arrested last February and sentenced to 12 years in a maximum security prison colony for committing treason. Her crime was donating $51.80 to a U.S.-based humanitarian group that helps Ukrainians affected by the war. Karelina was swapped in exchange for Arthur Petrov, who flew back to Russia yesterday. He was arrested for smuggling military-grade electronics to Russia in violation of U.S. sanctions. This is President Trump’s second prisoner swap since returning to the White House.
