From Global News.
At least 15 people have died, and dozens of others have been injured in Kyiv after Russia launched waves of missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital Monday overnight.
Twenty-seven different locations were bombarded in the city, leaving residential buildings, educational institutions and critical infrastructure facilities in piles of smoldering rubble.
At the scene of a crumbling apartment block, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko revealed that remains of Russian warheads were filled with cluster munitions. He said it was a means to “injure as many people as possible,” further suggesting it was an act of “genocide.”
Monday’s attack marked one of the deadliest on Kyiv in months and comes after two rounds of direct peace talks have failed to make progress on ending the war – which is now in its fourth year.
