From Global News.
Online fundraising site GoFundMe says it has taken down a fake post about an alleged Lapu Lapu festival victim. The action was taken after members of the Filipino community felt something was awry and spurred an investigation.
On April 26, a male suspect rammed a vehicle into a crowd of festival attendees. The 11 people who died include seven women, two men, one non-binary person and a child, according to VPD Const. Tania Visintin.
Suspect Kai-Ji Adam Lo, 30, was arrested at the scene on Saturday, and has been charged with eight counts of second-degree murder. Further charges are expected.
Global’s Angela Jung reports on the latest in the GoFundMe scandal.
