The federal Liberals will face scrutiny during Monday’s edition of question period in the House of Commons over the resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland from PM Justin Trudeau’s cabinet.

This news comes as Freeland was expected to deliver the Fall Economic Statement later Monday afternoon.

In a letter addressed to the prime minister, Freeland noted she has found herself increasingly at odds with Trudeau.

In Freeland’s letter, she also stated, “Our country today faces a grave challenge. The incoming administration in the United States is pursuing a policy of aggressive economic nationalism, including a threat of 25 per cent tariffs.”
